A SCHOOL’S almost decade-long fundraising mission has surpassed the £50,000 barrier.

Penistone Grammar School has supported The Children’s Hospital Charity in Sheffield for nine years.

In recent years staff and children have taken on the challenge of a 24-hour relay – something which was done again last month, helping the barrier to be broken.

Community fundraising manager at The Children’s Hospital Charity, Lucy Cain, said: “We are so grateful for everything Penistone Grammar School have done for the charity.

“I have had the pleasure of working closely with them throughout my time at the charity and their dedication and support is inspiring.”
