MORE than £900 was raised by staff members at a local GP surgery as they took part in a Race For Life ‘Pretty Muddy’ challenge in Sheffield last weekend.
Staff from Dove Valley Practice who have two branches, one being on Gold Street in the town centre and the other being on Powell Street in Worsbrough raised £945 after having completed the challenge in one hour and 30 minutes.
Amy Vaines, who took part in the five kilometres run, said: “We wanted to do it as a group and an activity in the work place, rather than a social gathering we wanted to do something charitable.
“We signed up for the Race For Life Pretty Muddy in aid of Cancer Research.
“There was 11 of us who took part it was great.
“There were different obstacles to climb over and under and in dirt and dirty waters.”
The event took place at Graves Park on Saturday from 12pm.
