A FUNDRAISING group whose members undertook a series of events to raise money in memory of a young woman who died from epilepsy has topped the £12,000 mark.
Jyneen Haughie’s sister, Clareese, died aged just 22 last September after suffering with the condition throughout her life.
In her memory Jyneen, who runs The Corner Pin in Barnsley town centre, has been raising funds and awareness for the Epilepsy Society.
Most recently, the pub team was joined by a 23-strong group of customers and members of the community for a skydive on June 16.
Following the successes of the events – which have also included fun days and body-waxing sessions – the pub will be hosting another entertaining fundraising day on October 11.
Jyneen said: “Since losing my sister to an epilepsy-related condition, supporting Epilepsy Society has been hugely important to me.
“I am consistently amazed by how The Corner Pin’s pub community support and rally around us and the cause that is so close to our hearts.
“Our regulars are incredible, and we really could not have raised £12,000 without them.
“A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us – we’ve got plenty more fundraisers lined up.”
