AS CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, GPs and pharmacies have released their festive opening times.
Only two pharmacies will be open on Christmas Day - AM Clarke in Penistone will be open from 10am to midday and Rotherham Road Pharmacy, Great Houghton will be open from 4pm to 6pm.
On Boxing Day, all Barnsley pharmacies will be open as usual Sunday hours.
On Monday, Asda pharmacy, Boots on Cheapside and at Cortonwood, and Morrison’s at Cortonwood will be open from 10am to 4pm.
Tesco Pharmacy on Wombwell Lane will be open from 9am to 1pm.
On bank holiday Tuesday the pharmacies at Asda, Boots on Cheapside and Boots at Cortonwood will be open from 10am to 4pm. Morrison’s at Cortonwood will be open from 9am to 5pm and Tesco Pharmacy on Wombwell Lane will be available from 9am to 1pm.
The Superdrug pharmacy on Cheapside will also be open from 8.30am to 7.30pm.
On January 3, the pharmacies at Asda, Boots Cheapside, Boots Cortonwood and Morrison’s Cortonwood will be open from 10am to 4pm.
Tesco pharmacy will also be available from 9am to 1pm.
For GPs appointments iHeart Barnsley will be available throughout the Christmas period.
On Christmas Eve, phone lines will be available from 4pm to 6pm with appointments from 6pm o 10.30pm. On Christmas Day phone lines will be available from 8am to 9.30am with appointments from 10am to 4pm.
From Boxing Day to December 28, the phone lines will be open from 8am to 10am and appointments will run from 10am and 2pm.
On New Year’s Day, you can phone from 8am to 9.30am and appointments will be scheduled from 10am to 2pm.
Also on January 3, phone lines will be available from 8am to 9.30am and appointments will be made from 10am to 2pm.
Outside of these hours you can phone 111.
