STUDENTS who are planning for their end of year prom on a budget are being invited to attend a prom fayre.

Once Upon A Prom provides Barnsley students with affordable prom wear to hire in the North East and Dearne area. There will be over 300 dresses and over a 100 suits to fit a range of sizes and styles including accessories with shoes, jewellery and bags available to those of all shapes and sizes.

The team also have an array of raffle prizes up for grabs including pin-up hair appointments, beauty treatments and photo shoots.

Nicky Oates, the founder of the Once Upon A Prom project, said: “We’re thrilled to be growing the project from last year’s success. There’s no better feeling than helping young people celebrate their education and success without breaking the bank.

“We have a range of fabulous dresses and suits to get the party started for students. The joining of projects brings together people who are truly passionate about providing beautiful prom wear for everyone.”

Coun Jenny Platts said: “I’d like to share huge congratulations to everyone who’s been involved in the project. It’s wonderful to see partnership working that has such a big impact on young people in the borough.”

The first event will be held at Astrea Academy Dearne’s prom fayre on Thursday February 28 at 6pm.
