TWO people have been arrested following a dog attack which left two children with serious injuries and another dog seriously harmed this morning.
A 46-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.
In an updated statement, police said that they responded to reports of a dangerous dog attack at Broadwater, Bolton upon Dearne, at 8.17am today.
It is reported that a dog bit a man, causing minor injuries, and a nine-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl, causing serious injuries.
The dog is also reported to have attacked another dog, seriously harming the animal.
The ambulance service attended and both children were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Officers located the dog at Ingfield Lane, where a member of the public assisted and took hold of its collar. The dog remains in police care.
