A BARNSLEY healthcare team will represent the region at the prestigious NHS Parliamentary Awards next month.
This year, ten award categories cover exceptional care and health innovation across healthcare services.
The Proud to Care Hub Barnsley has been shortlisted in The Excellence in Education and Training Award category.
Barnsley Proud to Care hub is a collaboration that helps people access jobs in health and care.
A spokesperson said: “We deliver targeted recruitment, volunteer and work experience, employability, training, and pastoral mentoring and have been nominated because we have had success supporting people who are often overlooked by current recruitment processes.”
Cathy Winfield, Chief Nursing Officer at NHS South Yorkshire said ”I am delighted that teams from across our system have been named as a finalists in this year’s NHS Parliamentary Awards. It reflects our colleagues' hard work and dedication to making South Yorkshire a better place for our patients, reducing health inequalities and providing excellent patient care. The NHS Parliamentary Awards were created in 2018 for health and care organisations and local MPs to celebrate and recognise the outstanding contribution of staff, volunteers and others working in the health and care sector.
During the first stage of the awards, MPs nominated healthcare teams and individuals serving their local area.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Westminster on Monday, October 14.
