WEST Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in which a Barnsley man sustained life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened at about 11am on Saturday when a red and white Honda motorbike was in collision with a blue Mazda car at the junction of the A637 Bar Lane and Top Lane at Midgley.

The motorbike rider, a 58-year-old man from Barnsley, was taken to hospital where his condition is said to be life-threatening at this time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or what happened prior to it, is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101 or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.

Anyone with dash cam footage that may assist this investigation is also asked to contact the team, quoting log reference 0625 of 11 May.
