A KENDRAY race walker is still winning gold medals at 85 years old!
Mick Barker returned from his latest European competition with two medals – one of them gold – and says he has no plans to slow down.
Mick jetted off to Torun in Poland recently to take on his fellow veterans in the European Masters Athletics Championships.
He beat competitors from Italy, Poland and France to bag gold in the 5km road walk and silver in the 3,000m indoor event, adding to his bulging cabinet of trophies and medals.
“It’s in my blood and I have no desire to ever stop,” said Mick, of Lavender Court. “I walk every single day and I absolutely love it.”
