After almost a year of preparation Dearne Churches Together are ready to bring Narnia to Goldthorpe.
Coming to Goldthorpe Pentecostal Community Church on November 25, the free event promises to bring the magic of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to the church so everyone can enjoy a memorable Christmas.
Pastor for the church and organiser of the event, Julie Turner, told the Chronicle: “It came about from a friend who had the idea last year.
“We presented it to church leaders from the Dearne Churches Together group and they all liked it.
“We’ve been planning it for most of the year now – people started buying things at January sales when we could get everything cheap.
“Things are picking up now though, it’s started to take over the entire building now.”
With support from the Dearne Ward Alliance, the event will include craft activities, a snow machine, and a professional photo shoot which has already sold out.
“It’s something that’s unique and special,” Julie added.
“We’re making something that’s going to be visually spectacular – it’ll be a great Christmas backdrop and hopefully give families lifelong memories.
“Everything will be taken over by glittery Christmas bits, we’ve raided so many shops to get it ready.”
