THE family of a man who was fatally stabbed last week have kick-started a fundraising scheme to help cover his funeral costs.
Carl Dixon, 35, was found at a property on George Street, Worsbrough, last Tuesday night.
His sister, Claire Dixon, started a Go Fund Me page late last week with the hope of giving him the send-off he deserves.
She said: “He was the best brother anyone could ever have – I loved him with all of my heart.
“I still feel like it’s not really happening – my heart hurts every day knowing I’ll never see him again.”
As well as the fundraising page, family and friends are running charity raffles and have organised a balloon release tomorrow at 1pm on Park Road in Worsbrough to commemorate his life.
His other sister, Kerry Dixon, added: “He was the best brother and uncle and he didn’t deserve this.
“Our hearts are broken.”
Daniel Cheetham, 25, of Underwood Avenue, Worsbrough, and Liam Shaw, 24, of no fixed abode, have both been charged with murder and remanded in custody.
