HUNDREDS of staff at Wilko will lose their jobs at the collapsed chain over the coming days with more redundancies to follow.
The three local units are situated in the Alhambra Centre, Wombwell and Cortonwood and the news comes just days after trade union GMB - which represents Wilko employees - confirmed ‘multiple bids’ had been received.
However, these have collapsed, with PwC - which is overseeing Wilko’s sale - saying it was it was clear there was no viable offer to buy the whole business.
