AN investigation has been launched after a man allegedly attempted to abduct a child on a train.
The incident took place at around 7.30pm on August 17, when a mother carrying her baby was preparing to leave the service at Worksop.
A stranger is then said to have grabbed the baby from the mother’s arms and took off down the carriage with her.
Fortunately, a relative managed to get the baby back, but the man in question left the service at Barnsley Interchange.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.
