BARNSLEY South MP Stephanie Peacock is urging people to get moving whilst promoting the importance of physical activity.
Ms Peacock, who is also the Minister for Sport, has taken part in a number of different activities recently.
She said: “Sport is vital to the UK’s story and this government’s determined to get more people active, giving them the opportunities they need to excel, no matter where they grow up. In Barnsley, there are lots of opportunities to get active, from local football clubs to leisure centres like Premier Leisure Centre, to children’s events such as Kixx in Hoyland.
"I have been pleased to take part in some of the local sports events recently, such as the daily mile at Elsecar School and the Barnsley Hospice 10k.”
