A PENISTONE family band are set to debut their latest single – and it takes inspiration from one of the industry’s biggest stars.

Titled ‘Mother’, Scandal have taken inspiration from Olivia Rodrigo’s hit song ‘Good 4 U’

.

The band is made up of Craig and Audrey Parsons, and their son Keegan who is currently studying music at Barnsley College.

It’s set to be released next Friday, with it being their fifth single from their second album ‘Shy Moon’.

Craig said: “Think Alanis Morissette’s ‘You Oughta Know’ meets Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Good 4 U’ meets 10cc’s ‘I’m Not In Love’, and you get the new song.

“The song, written by myself and is seen from the point of view of a girl running into her fairly recent ex, who dumped her for his new love.

“The song features the extremely powerful vocals of Audrey.

“Keegan plays wonderful and powerful acoustic and electric guitar."

“For this song, I did my very first orchestral arrangement, which adds to the melancholy and the madness of the song.

“Our second album, ‘Shy Moon’, will be released within a month or two.”

The band’s new song will be available on all streaming platforms from next Friday.
