A YOUNG photographer is one of 14 people to be shortlisted for a national RSPCA award.
Evelyn Tomlinson, ten, from Gawber, submitted a pet portrait of her cat to the competition and is now in the running for the RSPCA People’s Choice Award.
Evelyn said: “I was very excited when I found out my picture had been picked and it makes me want to do more photography of all my pets.
“I picked this picture of Charlie because he was always very spoiled and posing like this made me think of him as King Charlie.”
RSPCA photographer and awards judge, Andrew Forsyth, added: “The best thing about the young photographer awards is that we’re always seeing something new.
“The creativity and talent is outstanding – and it’s a real joy to look through the entries every year.”
The winner of the competition will receive £100 of vouchers from Amazon, a trophy and a certificate.
The winner of the competition will be announced on Thursday.
