BARNSLEY College’s animal care students were treated to an educational experience with birds of prey recently.
The students had the chance to observe and interact with various species of birds of prey, learning about their habitats, behaviours and importance in the ecosystem.
The hands-on experience was designed to enrich their understanding of the birds and see them in flight.
Lee Perks, enterprise team leader who organised the event, said: “We worked with the land-based department to organise an enrichment opportunity for the students to enhance their learning and foster a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to Chris Johnson from SMJ Falconry who came to our Wigfield Farm campus with multiple birds of prey and took the time to speak to each student and answer every question they had about the birds.”
