BARNSLEY Foodbank Partnership has been served up a welcome boost as it goes into the New Year.
Before Christmas, Santa and Mrs Claus travelled in their sleigh through the streets of Staincross, Woolley Colliery Village, Darton and Mapplewell and raised almost £50 for the partnership and Mapplewell and Staincross Village Hall Christmas Party added to donations taking the total to £100.
Food donations were also delivered to the foodbank on its reopening yesterday.
Teresa Wilcockson, who organised the event on behalf of Darton East Ward Alliance, said: “Thank you to everyone who contributed to the food bank collection. Thanks go to Ray White of Stainborough Rotary Club, Neil Wright and Lisa Wright for bringing the event to Darton East areas and also thanks to the Darton East Ward Alliance staff and members for supporting the organising of the event.”
