AN elderly driver has been left in a critical condition after he suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
The man had crashed into a parked car on Park Road in Worsbrough on Tuesday evening, causing him to suffer a serious head injury.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We received a report at 5.20pm on Tuesday.
“It was reported that a vehicle had crashed into a parked car on Park Road, Worsbrough, after being seen driving erratically in the area.
“It is believed the driver, an elderly man, had a medical episode causing him to crash the vehicle.
“He was taken to hospital by ambulance where he has a serious head injury and remains in a critical condition.
“The road was closed while enquiries were conducted and the vehicle could be recovered – it was reopened just before 1am on Wednesday morning.”
