A COUPLE from Thurnscoe have been nominated in the inaugural Fatherhood Awards.
Michael and Paul Atwal-Brice are up for the ‘most inspiring father’ award, sharing their category with the likes of celebrities Ashley Cain and Nigel Clarke.
The couple have four children and have campaigned tirelessly over the last few years to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ adoption and fostering.
Two of their sons, Levi and Lucas, have autism and epilepsy, and the Atwal-Brices are ambassadors for Caudwell Children, a charity dedicated to helping autistic children, as well as working with various other charities across the UK who help disabled children.
Michael said: “It was a bit of a shock - we’ve done lots of work over the years with Levi and Lucas to raise awareness, but there are lots of other inspiring fathers in our category too.
“It’s really nice to be in the final.”
This week is the last for the public to vote before the awards, with voting closing just before midnight on April 18.
The ceremony is due to take place on June 18 in London.
