CITIZENS Advice Barnsley is on the lookout for volunteers to deliver support to local residents.

The charity has launched a January appeal for new recruits who will be able to offer up their time to help people struggling with housing, benefits, employment and other issues.

Last year the charity supported more than 3,600 people in the Barnsley area – but they say they’re only able to do this due to its ‘strong team’ of volunteers.

Jo Clark, CEO at Citizens Advice Barnsley, said: “We’re urging people to do something great this year and volunteer with Citizens Advice Barnsley.

“As well as doing something positive for the local community, we know people who give their time get a lot back, be it the satisfaction of helping clients work through their challenges, enjoying working as part of our team or learning new skills.

“We’ll give you all the training you need and would love to hear from you.”
