BARNSLEY FC have issued a rallying call to fans for tonight’s evening game with Stockport County.
The Reds are hoping to make the crowd for the 7.45pm kick-off against a club they consider a promotion rival this season their biggest of the season, which is currently the 14,817 who watched the opening day clash with Mansfield.
They have offered free tickets to all of the roughly 6,500 fans who watched the 7-0 loss at Manchester United in the EFL Cup last week, with season ticket holders able to pass their ticket on to a friend.
Head coach Darrell Clarke said: “It would be great to see as many people packing the stands as possible this Saturday night as we take on a Stockport team that have made a good start to the campaign.
“We’ve seen already how much your support can make a difference and create a special atmosphere in front of the Sky cameras.”
Captain Luca Connell added: “The support the lads and I have received this season so far has been unbelievable and we want that to continue under the lights at Oakwell.
“Let’s stick together and create a special atmosphere – a big thank you from everyone at the club and we look forward to seeing you tonight.”
