A YOUNG musician is celebrating after being awarded the equivalent of an A level at just 12 years old.
Skye Stokes has achieved a Grade Eight Award in the Baritone.
The grade is equivalent to an A Level pass and the music prodigy first picked up her instrument while at Greenfield Primary School.
Coun Tim Cheetham, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “Barnsley is a place that fosters growth and ambition of everyone with the drive and passion to learn, to be best they can be.
“We want people to aim high and excel in their education, and Skye is a fantastic example of this.”
