RESIDENTS are urged to remain vigilant after a scam involving so-called 'Covid passports' is making the rounds.
Officers from South Yorkshire Police are asking residents to report the scam if they receive a text from 07306417115.
The sender will ask the receiver for bank details in return for obtaining a 'vaccination passport' which are being introduced this month to prove that you have been vaccinated in order to enter public venues.
The text messages are not genuine, and the receiver runs the risk of being scammed out of money.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Should you receive a similar text message from this or any other phone number, please report it to us via the online 101 reporting form.”
