BARNSLEY will play their final pre-season friendly at Premier League champions Manchester City tomorrow.

The Reds have won two friendlies at Rochdale and at home to Sheffield Wednesday and drew with Morecambe last Friday at the end of a Loughborough University training camp.

They were originally scheduled to play Watford but will instead travel to City's academy stadium for the behind-closed-doors match, kicking off at 6pm.

Midfielder Romal Palmer, who was released by City at 16 having been through their academy at the same time as England winger Phil Foden, said the match was a 'good way to end the pre-season'.

“It was upsetting to be released from a club that I loved all my life," said Palmer. "But to go back to the same academy that I left, as a professional footballer for Barnsley, and get all those memories, it will be great."

Mads Andersen and Victor Adeboyejo are expected to sit out with injuries.
