BARNSLEY’S local testing sites will no longer be a collection point for home coronavirus testing kits, the council has confirmed.
Only residents who have symptoms are now able to attend the local testing sites.
The three main sites, which are accessible by car and on foot, are at the Lower Courthouse car park, County Way, Dorothy Hyman Sports Centre car park, Cudworth, and the Summer Lane car park, Wombwell – all are open seven days a week 8am to 8pm.
There are also two mobile testing sites which are open until Sunday, 9am to 3pm, at the Burleigh Street car park, Barnsley, and the Queen Street car park in Goldthorpe.
The Burleigh Street testing centre is drive-through only.
A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “These sites will only be available for PCR testing, which are tests for people who have symptoms of Covid, and an appointment must be booked before visiting.
“Alternative collection sites for home testing kits can be found on our website.”
