POLICE have warned Dodworth residents to remain vigilant against a suspicious man who fraudulently acts as a pizza delivery worker.
On Friday (May 28), officers from the Barnsley West Neighbourhood Team issued an alert to residents across the ward after receiving numerous reports of a man acting suspiciously.
The man has reportedly been knocking on multiple doors and pretending to be a Domino’s pizza delivery driver.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “When we checked with Domino’s, it was confirmed that the male was not one of their staff.
“Do not hand over cash to someone who attends your property that is unknown to you. Be cautious of anyone who turns up on your doorstep without an appointment.
“It’s ok to say no. Remember it is your doorstep and your decision.
“If in doubt, keep them out and report any suspicious incidents to South Yorkshire Police on 101.”
