SMARTWATER kits have been dished out to more than 400 residents in Darton by police.
Smartwater is a traceable liquid that is applied to items of value to deter theft.
This comes following concerns raised about theft in the Darton area by local residents.
A spokesperson for the Barnsley North Neighbourhood Team said: “Following concerns raised by members of the community in the Darton West area, local PCs and PCSOs have been active in the area issuing free Smartwater kits and registering them over the past few weeks.
“At present we have issued over 411 Smartwater kits.”
