COUNCIL bosses have confirmed that checks will be carried out on businesses across the borough to ensure they are Covid-secure ahead of their phased reopening.

Over the coming weeks, officials from Barnsley Council will be visiting businesses to ensure they are following coronavirus guidance in a bid to keep staff and customers safe whilst at work.

This comes ahead of April 12 when non-essential shops are allowed to reopen following the government’s Covid-19 roadmap.
