Recycling centres change to winter opening times

HOUSEHOLD waste and recycling centres across Barnsley have switched to their winter opening times as nights draw in.

The centres in Barnsley Lane, Penistone, Goldthorpe, and Worsbrough Dale were open until 4.30pm, 5pm, and 7pm respectively.

However, the centres changed to their winter opening times today (October 1).

The new opening times are as follows:

• Smithies Lane, Barnsley – 9am – 3.30pm

• Springvale, Penistone – 9am – 3.30pm

• Nicholas Lane, Goldthorpe - 9am – 4pm

• West Street, Worsbrough Dale – 8am – 4pm

All four centres will be open seven-days-a-week, but will close on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
