BARNSLEY Council has announced it will open walk-in testing centres to help track and trace cases of the virus.

If you are experiencing symptoms of the virus, you are adviced to self-isolate and to follow the advice on the government website - which can be found here.

However, if you have no symptoms a pop-up testing centre will be available from a mobile unit.

The tests will be available on Station Road, Wombwell from 10.30am - 4pm on Thursday (July 16) and Friday (July 17).

You do not need to book an appointment for these tests.

The council has urged the public to get tested if they are concerned in any way.
