A WOMBWELL barber is offering free services to people who need a ‘pick-me-up’.

Mathew Potter, who works at Haunt Barbershop on Wombwell Lane, has started the Make Over Project where he will give a free haircut every month to local people.

Mathew is hoping for local nominees that have had long-term illnesses, mental health struggles or someone who deserves a pampering session.

Mathew said: “I see people coming into the shop that are having a bad day or have major struggles in their life. But as soon as they get a makeover, it can have a lasting affect on the rest of the day. “Over the past few months I have been thinking of a way to offer something to the members of my local community. And by offering my trade, I hope I can give people the ‘pick-me-up’ that they need.”

Mathew is currently taking nominations on his Facebook and Instagram pages, with the first winner being selected at the end of September.
