LABOUR MP Stephanie Peacock resigned from her role on the front bench as a member of the Opposition Whips.

She stood down last night following the Parliament vote to potentially delay Brexit which is due to take place on March 29.

In her letter to Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn she wrote: “I was elected on the Labour Manifesto that pledged to respect the result of the 2016 EU referendum.

“The people of Barnsley elected me to honour that promise and that is what I did.

“I believe the people spoke in 2016 and we need to enact their decision.”
