BARNSLEY CVS are hosting a volunteer recruitment event for people looking for volunteering opportunities.

There will be a big variety of charities and voluntary organisations represented at the event, which takes place during Volunteers Week, all offering different kinds of volunteer opportunities.

The event is being held on Wednesday (June 5) from 10am-2pm at Barnsley Market, at the bottom of the escalators.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to make friends, develop new skills and build up your CV. If you don't find an opportunity at the event that you are interested in you can speak to volunteer coordinator, Beth Taylor who will be there and will be aware of many other opportunities available in Barnsley.

Organisations attending the event are Citizens Advice Barnsley, South Yorkshire Liaison and Diversion – Peer Support Team, Crossroads (Barnsley) Ltd, North Area Team, National Trust, Age UK Barnsley, Refugee Council, Family Hubs, Steel Valley Project, Beacon South Yorkshire, South Yorkshire Housing Association, Northern College Barnsley, H.O.P.E in the Community, Barnsley U3A, The Helpful Heathens, Barnsley Hospice, Barnsley Libraries, The Exodus Project, BIADS, DIAL Barnsley, Active Fusion, Family Lives, Barnsley Community Connects, Focus4Vision, SSAFA the Armed Forces charity, South Yorkshire Victim Support, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Open Country and Jolly Good Communities.
