A LOCAL MP is hoping that her latest crime survey will help her and the police find out what people want to see in the area.
Barnsley’s only Conservative MP Miriam Cates is encouraging residents in her constituency to take part in the survey.
She said: “I know just how important it is to make sure our homes, streets, schools and communities are safe from crime and antisocial behaviour.
“That’s why it’s so reassuring to hear that our new government-funded Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are making a real difference in our area.
“Speaking to police officers and residents recently, I’ve been pleased to learn about some of the initiatives that are helping to tackle, deter and prevent crimes such as burglaries, vehicle and road crime, antisocial behaviour, and fraud.
“I’ve been supporting the Barnsley West policing team in their work to understand and respond to local businesses. And, I’ve really enjoyed meeting with policing teams in north Sheffield and west Barnsley to discuss a number of issues raised by residents across the constituency.
“But to really help me understand the priorities of constituents and what they think could help most I need your feedback.”
The survey can be found on Mrs Cates’ website and takes a few minutes to complete.
