DARFIELD residents have finally got their Post Office back following the closure of another site last year.

The branch reopened at Darfield Super Save, on Garden Street, earlier this month – just a stone’s throw away from its previous location on Snape Hill Road which closed in October. Post Office opening hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Couns Kevin Osborne, Pauline Parkway and Trevor Smith were on hand to help new sub-postmaster Gowtham Raja mark the opening.

Mr Raja said: “We are proud to be part of the Darfield community and we look forward to continuing to serve customers with a smile and a friendly chat.”

Coun Osborne added: “Post Offices create community hubs that support local independent traders and provide services for the elderly and vulnerable. I welcome the reopening of the Post Office in Darfield and I wish Mr Raja and his family nothing but the best for the future.”
