OVER nine months a team at Premier Foods and The Company Shop raised £10,556 for Barnsley Hospital Charity.

Staff from the two stores led a variety of fundraising efforts for the hospice’s Make a Memory Appeal, including a huge raffle, a trek across Snowdon, a cold water plunge, a fire and ice walk, and fundraising through the staff’s post-Christmas celebration.

In addition to the fundraising efforts, Premier Foods also donated cakes for the 75th birthday of the NHS and other celebrations and were judges in the charity’s ‘Great Barnsley Bake Off’ competition.

Jane Mills, charity development manager, said: “It is an absolutely incredible achievement to raise £10,556 in such a short space of time; we want to say a huge thank you to all of the team who have organised, participated and got behind our charity to help us make a difference for our older patients and those living with dementia.

“A special thanks to Caroline Lovell, human resources manager, Mark Booth, communications and engagement advisor from Premier Foods, and Jane Harrison and the team at The Company Shop for their tireless efforts to meet their own target of £10,000, which amazingly, they even exceeded.”

Caroline Lovell, HR manager at Premier Foods, added: “We have loved partnering with Barnsley Hospital Charity this year.

“We have engaged with so many wonderful activities, challenged ourselves and made memories which will last a lifetime.”
