TWO Barnsley pubs have been given one out of five in recent food hygiene inspections.

The Crown Inn, on Hill Street in Elsecar, was given the score following a rating on November 1.

Whilst The Limes, on Wakefield Road, was also handed one out of five following an inspection.

Five restaurants have been handed new food hygiene ratings.

Belle’s Coffee Shop on Gawber Road received the top rating of five following an assessment on December 7.

Whilst the McDonald’s store on Upper New Street also picked up the top score after an inspection on December 5.

The Costa outlet and Taco Bell restaurant in Birdwell, as well as the McDonald’s on Old Mill Lane all received a rating of five on December 4.

Four takeaways have also been handed five-out-of-five food hygiene ratings.

Mint, on Barugh Green Road, was given the top score following an assessment on December 7.

Whilst three Greggs stores – two in Wombwell and one in Birdwell – were rated five earlier this month.
