A PROLIFIC shoplifter has been given an eight-week custodial sentence after being charged with four counts of theft from a shop.
Logan Taylor, 23, of no fixed abode, reportedly stole multiple items totalling over £200 between November 27 and December 1.
PC Will Oya from the Barnsley North Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers St Helen’s, Darton and Old Town, said: “Taylor has targeted the same store multiple times and I am pleased that he will now face time behind bars for his actions.
“I understand that many retail workers in the area and members of the community may be feeling frustrated and wary about these types of incidents. I can assure you that we are working hard to tackle issues such as retail crime and ensuring that shoplifters are taken off our streets as quickly as possible.”
