A MUM-OF-TWO from Penistone has fulfilled her life-long dream by becoming the author of four published children’s books.
Rebecca Taylor, 34, has wanted to write books ever since she was young – but it wasn’t until she wrote her nephew a poem that she realised her dream could become a reality.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to write a book, even when I was a child, but I never thought that I’d be able to get anything published.
“My nephew wanted me to write something about a gorilla for him so I wrote a poem and sent him a voice note of it.
“That’s when people said that it would make a good children’s book.
“You’re able to submit books to Amazon and if they like them then they’ll be able to publish it.
“I’ve managed to get four of them published now but you have to find someone to do illustrations.
“I had to illustrate them myself and although it was difficult I had a lot of fun doing it.
“In 2022 I had been diagnosed with post natal depression and earlier this year I had resigned from my job so writing and illustrating the books gave me an outlet to feel like myself again.”
You can find Rebecca’s books on Amazon.
