TRIBUTES have flown in for the owner of a Thurnscoe pub who was stabbed to death whilst on holiday in Ingoldmells last week.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, police were made aware of an altercation near Fantasy Grill and Balti on Sea Lane at the seaside town.

Gareth Hart, 43, of Thurnscoe was found injured and died shortly afterwards.

Tributes have been paid to Gareth, who owned the Thurnscoe Tap on Station Road – with a number of flowers left at the site in his memory.

His family have asked for privacy.

Lincolnshire Police have charged Joseph Allan Malek, aged 33 of Market Place in Belper, with the murder of Gareth.

A spokesperson said: “Malek has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

“We continue to investigate and anyone with information, or anyone with dashcam footage in the Roman Bank area between 9pm on April 5 and 3am the following day, should contact us on 101, quoting Incident 22 of April 6.”

Malek appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Wednesday, where he was told he will return on May 30 to enter a plea.

Should he plead not guilty, a trial date has been set for October 9.

He will be remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
