WENTWORTH and Dearne MP John Healey joined members of the Dearne Veterans Breakfast Club to celebrate their first birthday.
The group has been meeting at the Snap Tin in Goldthorpe for the past 12 months and provides friendship and support to local armed forces veterans.
More than a dozen local veterans regularly attend the group, which takes place between 9.30am 11am every other Friday.
John Healey MP said: “It’s always a pleasure to meet up with the Dearne Veterans Breakfast Club – not only do you get a great breakfast, but you also get to chat and join in the camaraderie of the group.
“Speaking with members I know how much it means to them to be able to meet up and talk to each other about their time in the forces and it’s that support and friendship that helps combat loneliness in the community.
“I wish the group a happy first birthday and here’s to many more in the future.”
