A BARNSLEY barber is collecting Easter eggs to cheer up children who will be in hospital this Easter.
It comes just months after Tony Batty, who owns Tony’s Barber Shop on Racecommon Road, delivered thousands of Christmas presents to struggling families.
Tony restarted the campaign to deliver Easter eggs to hospitals across South Yorkshire earlier this week and he's had a cracking response already with donations flying in.
He’s hoping to at least match last year’s donation figure of 2,000.
Tony said: “The Christmas appeal was fantastic – it’s the best we’ve ever done.
“This Easter egg donation period will end on April 6.
"if we can at least match last year’s figure of a couple of thousands then I’ll be happy.
“I just want to help people.
“We’ll be donating the eggs to Weston Park, Barnsley Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
“We’re also thinking about helping parents who are struggling by putting on an Easter egg hunt at Locke Park.”
