A HOMELESS organisation is appealing for tents and rucksacks to help those in need.
Action for Barnsley Homeless, on Sheffield Road, put out an appeal last month for donations towards a storage unit.
After having received donations from the community, the volunteers managed to find the funds for the unit, which is now in place at their base.
Last week, they shared another appeal asking for tents and rucksacks.
Volunteer Jill Martin said: “We are in desperate need of essential items for some of our service users.
“We rely solemnly on help from the people of Barnsley – we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without everyone supporting us and making regular donations.
“We’re really lucky in the sense that we receive as many donations as we do, nearly every day we get people stopping by to drop things off – it’s a massive help.”
