BARNSLEY judo star Lachlan Moorhead has won gold in the Commonwealth Games - with other local stars set to compete later today.

The 21-year-old from Penistone won the medal in the 81kg men’s category.

Hollie Naughton, who is from Barnsley but represents Canada, is also guaranteed a medal.

The squash star stunned favourite Joelle King from New Zealand in the semi-final and will compete for gold today.

Cricketer Katherine Brunt helped England to a second successive win against South Africa, hitting 38 off 23 balls then taking a wicket.

They are through to the semi-finals.
