College on hand to support students affected by fires

BARNSLEY College bosses have said they are on hand to support any student affected by the recent wildfires.

Alternative accommodation will be available to those who need it, and the college’s student services team will help with wellbeing.

A spokesperson added: “Over the last few days, a number of homes across South Yorkshire have been destroyed by unprecedented wildfires.

“These incidents have had a significant impact on our students and staff.

“If you’re a college student and have been affected by the fires, we’re here to support you.”
