A FORMER Barnsley police officer will appear at court tomorrow following charges linked to an ‘inappropriate’ relationship with a female victim of crime.

Former PC Liam Mills, 34, has been charged with two counts of misconduct in a public office and a data protection offence.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police added: “Former PC Liam Mills, who worked on a response team, is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday, June 29).

“The charges follow an internal report to the force’s Professional Standards Department regarding concerns of an inappropriate relationship with a female victim of crime.”
