A CHARITY which supports people with dementia in Barnsley are asking for residents to volunteer to help those in the local community.

BIADS are asking for people to give a few hours of their time up each week to help families that are in need.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Volunteers provide vital support to many charities.

“Here at BIADS we truly value your support and we have a wealth of volunteering opportunities available.

“From caring companions to activities assistants, our rewarding roles bring you the chance to have fun whilst brightening someone’s day.

“Without volunteers BIADS cannot offer the range of services and activities that our members and families cherish.

“As Barnsley’s dementia-specialised charity, we guarantee that the monies received from our fundraising and donations is spent right here in Barnsley.”

If you want to get involved, call Lyndsey Crossland, volunteer co-ordinator, on 280057.
