A FORMER Barnsley man who stole almost £100,000 to fund his porn addiction has been spared jail time.
Stephen Maloney, 36, formerly of Gerald Road, Kendray, took the money from Sheffield company Status Investments Ltd – committing two counts of fraud between May 2011 and November 2015.
Maloney, now of Armley, Leeds, stole a total of £98,693.
But at Sheffield Crown Court last week, it was said he had paid £55,000 back to the company.
Maloney was sentenced to 20 months of custody suspended for two years, with a rehabilitation activity requirement and 150 hours of unpaid work.
A proceeds of crime hearing will take place later this year to recover the owed funds.
