POLICE are appealing for information after more than 60 war medals were stolen from Stairfoot last month.
It’s reported that between 3pm and 9pm on February 18, unknown offenders entered a house on Hill Street by forcing open the back door.
When the victim returned home he found around 60 to 70 war medals – with a value of around £12,000 – had been taken.
A police spokesperson added: “Some of these medals were the victim’s grandfather’s from World War One.
“Officers want to hear from you if know anything about the incident or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at around that time.
“Do you know who is responsible?
“Have you seen any of the stolen items for sale?
“If you have any information, please call 101 and quote crime number 14/38349/22.”
